According to meteorological observations from SET News, temperatures across Taiwan peaked between 36 to 38 degrees, with afternoon thunderstorms occurring. Rain persisted from yesterday night into today in parts of northern Taiwan, while other regions experienced scattered showers. The weather is expected to remain hot with the potential for localized thunderstorms due to the influence of the Pacific high pressure system, with temperatures ranging from 23 to 37 degrees in different areas. Uncommonly, Taiwan has been experiencing consecutive days of thunderstorms, as the high pressure system's influence is not strong enough to completely suppress convective activity. It is advised to take precautions against the risk of thunderstorms, including flash floods, landslides, and rockfalls in mountainous regions.
