According to Mirror Media's report on July 8, 2024, there are new evidence in the alleged bribery case involving former Taoyuan Mayor Cheng Wen-tsan. A special investigation team heard the son of Liao Chun-song, referred to as White Gloves, mentioning bringing 5 million NT dollars to Cheng's official residence in September 2017. Surveillance footage captured Liao's son carrying a heavy-looking black bag into Cheng's residence and leaving within half an hour without the bag. Despite denying the bribery allegations, Cheng reportedly smiled and responded in Taiwanese dialect when mentioned about the bag. The prosecution suggested that Cheng returned 5 million NT dollars to Liao's son under the guise of a loan, leading to his arrest on suspicion of corruption. Cheng's reaction during the court proceedings appeared calm and resigned. Another individual involved in the bribery, Yang Zhao-lin, denied all accusations. Yang, who is nearly 90 years old and holds a distinguished background in finance and management, was identified as a key figure in the case.
