White Sox find a new way to lose a game: Interference with the infield fly rule

Reported 6 months ago

The Chicago White Sox lost a game against the Baltimore Orioles due to an unusual infield fly rule interference call that resulted in a controversial third out for the White Sox in the bottom of the ninth inning. Despite player confusion and disagreement with the call, the umpires ruled that interference had occurred, ultimately leading to the White Sox losing the game. The league later admitted the interference call shouldn't have been made, adding to the White Sox's struggles in a disappointing season with a 15-36 record.
