Many A-list celebrities are now turning down roles in films directed by Stephen Chow, with leading actor Lin Gengxin admitting it's 'just too embarrassing.' Lin shared his personal experience, stating that acting in Chow's films involves extremely demanding requirements and meticulous perfectionism, leading to immense pressure and often feelings of defeat. He revealed instances where a kissing scene had to be shot over 20 times until dry lips were a concern, prompting him to feel humiliated. Despite the challenges, some stars like Huang Bo eventually joined Chow's productions, delivering decent performances while feeling the roles were not quite suitable. The strict standards and perfectionism displayed by Chow seem to be the main reasons for the reluctance of top stars to work with the renowned 'King of Comedy.'
