Why Did the Mainland Chinese Nuclear Submarine Surface and Appear in Penghu? Guo Zhengliang Analyzes the True Purpose

Reported 8 months ago

Penghu fishermen were surprised to see what appeared to be a Chinese PLA 094-type nuclear submarine surfacing near the median line of the strait on the morning of June 18. A PLA navy ship arrived to support the submarine, and both vessels headed towards the mainland. Former legislator Guo Zhengliang explained that the submarine likely traveled through the Bashi Strait and deemed the Taiwan Strait the safest route to reach the Liaoning base. He clarified that the incident was not targeted at Taiwan, as mainland China considers the Taiwan Strait its internal waters.
