As the summer approaches, many people apply sunscreen before heading out to prevent sunburns and UV damage. However, despite using sunscreen, some still wonder why they get tanned. Dr. Huang Xuan, a specialist in respiratory and critical care, pointed out two key reasons for this issue. The first is inadequate use of sunscreen, emphasizing the importance of applying it generously and evenly to ensure full protection. The second reason is the need for reapplication every few hours, especially during outdoor activities or when sweating, to maintain effective protection against UV rays. Dr. Huang also recommends using additional sun protection tools like hats, sunglasses, and long-sleeved clothing to further safeguard the skin from UV damage in the summer.
