On the morning of July 3, 2024, Deputy Director Xie Qingqin of the Coast Guard Administration explained the situation where Chinese coast guards forcibly detained a Taiwanese fishing boat named 'Da Jin Man 88' near Jinjiang for fishing in Chinese waters during a closed fishing season. While many fishing boats were operating in the area, only 'Da Jin Man 88' was detained. The Coast Guard Administration stated that maritime law enforcement is sometimes random without specific intentions. They are working to release the boat and crew promptly through diplomatic channels, as Chinese coast guards have detained 17 Taiwanese fishing boats in the past for similar violations.
