Universal's film adaptation of the Broadway show 'Wicked' will now premiere on Nov. 22, five days earlier than originally planned, to avoid opening against Disney's 'Moana 2.' This change allows 'Wicked' to target a specific female demographic without facing direct competition. The film will still contend with Paramount and Ridley Scott’s 'Gladiator II' on the same day. Directed by Jon M. Chu, the second part of 'Wicked' is set for Nov. 26, 2025. The movie features stars like Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande and is a prequel to 'The Wizard of Oz.'
