Winning Column of Stock Index Futures - Shipping Futures Fall Below Monthly Line, Short-term Weakness

Reported about 1 year ago

As peak season approaches, shipping companies have announced price increases; however, with reports of a ceasefire agreement in the Middle East, the Shanghai-Europe Line Shipping main contract plummeted, affecting the stock performance of the top three container shipping companies. Despite stabilization in the Europe Line Shipping contract, the shipping index futures on June 12th continued to show short-term weakness with a bearish trend, officially falling below the monthly line. Following the United Nations Security Council's resolution supporting an immediate ceasefire between Israel and the Hamas organization in Palestine, the stock market faces uncertainties with the escalation of geopolitical risks in the Middle East. TSMC, whose revenue remained high in May, is expected to have a quick ex-dividend week on June 13th and will likely support the Taiwanese stock market as it anticipates stronger revenue momentum in the second half of the year due to AI advancements.
