Scott Arniel has been promoted from associate coach to head coach of the Winnipeg Jets, replacing the retired Rick Bowness. Arniel, a former Jets left wing, joined Bowness' staff in 2022 and has helped lead the team to a 98-57-9 record and two playoff appearances over two seasons. Despite their regular-season success, the Jets were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs for the second consecutive year. Arniel, who has NHL playing experience and previous coaching experience with the Columbus Blue Jackets, also filled in for Bowness on occasion over the past two seasons.
