In Shenzhen, China, a woman named Wang Xiaoni was fired from her job after covering a surveillance camera above her workstation with umbrellas for 18 days, claiming it could expose her privacy. She sued the company for unjust dismissal and demanded compensation of 335,000 RMB (about 1.42 million NTD). Despite multiple warnings from the company, Wang continued the behavior, leading to her contract termination. The court rejected her claim, stating the company had the right to manage work areas, and her actions constituted a serious violation of labor discipline. Wang filed for reconsideration, but the higher court upheld the decision, denying her compensation request.
