A woman surnamed Yin in Taoyuan mistakenly believed in a scam investment and downloaded a fake investment app called 'TradeStatio APP,' resulting in a total loss of 750,000 yuan through multiple transfers and face-to-face transactions. Only realizing she was deceived after three fraudulent transfers and two face-to-face transactions, Yin reported the incident to Luchu Police Substation, leading to the successful arrest of the scammer with Yin's cooperation. The case has been transferred to the Taoyuan District Prosecutors Office for investigation. Luchu Police Substation advised the public to avoid investments with unclear profit sources or significantly unreasonable profit rates and cautioned against blindly trusting others. They recommended staying vigilant by following the steps of staying calm, verifying, and reporting in case of suspected fraud calls or messages, and provided contact information for anti-fraud consultations.
