In Gongliao District, New Taipei City, a woman was found floating in the sea near Longdong Street today. After being rescued and sent to a nearby medical center, the 72-year-old woman surnamed Zhang was pronounced dead. The cause of the drowning is still under investigation by the police. Upon receiving reports from the public, the woman was rescued by firefighters but efforts to resuscitate her proved unsuccessful. Her son has yet to comment on the cause of death.
