A 62-year-old woman in New Taipei City, known as 'Sister Amitabha' for chanting 'Amitabha Buddha' while biking, was hit by a 20-year-old male rider on June 26. She suffered a fractured left hand and multiple abrasions, requiring treatment at the hospital. Authorities confirmed the rider was not drunk but suspect his negligence caused the accident. 'Sister Amitabha' has been a distinctive figure in the city for over a decade, frequently reciting prayers as she cycles around, with the accident causing shock and concern among witnesses and locals.
