A tragic incident occurred on April 22 around 1 p.m. when the female owner of a bento shop on Gezhi Road in Shilin District, Taipei, was hit by a sedan from behind while walking along the roadside, resulting in severe injuries. Despite efforts to save her, she passed away on May 7 due to the severity of her injuries. Investigations revealed that the driver responsible for the accident was an 85-year-old man who had previously served as a district chief. He was charged with manslaughter.
