Reported on June 13, 2024, a woman named Lin Peijing, who falsely claimed to have been a legal advisor during the terms of Tainan Mayor Huang Weizhe and Vice President Hsiao Meiqin, was exposed for not having a lawyer's license. She operated in the legislature illegally for 5 years, accepting cases on behalf of victims but not appearing in court, and profiting illegally from over NT$100,000. Following searches by the Taipei City Investigation Bureau under the command of the Taipei District Prosecutors Office, Lin was summoned along with multiple witnesses for questioning, after which she was ordered to post NT$100,000 bail and restricted from leaving the country, going to sea, or changing residence. Lin is suspected of committing fraud and violating the Lawyers Law among other charges for unlawfully representing herself as a lawyer since 2019 while assisting people in legal matters.
