A woman in Nantou reported a suspicious job post on Facebook as potential fraud and cooperated with the police in a sting operation to lure the scammer to her home, leading to the successful arrest of the perpetrator. The woman, who had been scammed before in a similar manner, played along with the scammers’ requests for her bank passbook in order to help the authorities catch them. The scammers targeted homemakers seeking part-time jobs online, using bank accounts for identity verification, making them vulnerable to such scams. Police successfully captured the scammer, and investigations are ongoing to combat fraudulent activities in the area.
