A female customer at the Salya, a Japanese chain Italian restaurant in Taoyuan, was injured when a grilled snail dish she ordered exploded and sprayed oil, causing damage to her right eyelid and cornea. The restaurant has not provided a clear answer regarding compensation, with the customer expressing frustration over the incident and lack of response. The customer, Ms. Guo, experienced the explosion during a meal on June 29 which led to burns on her face, notably affecting her eye. Despite initial assurances of covering medical expenses, the restaurant management's delayed response and handling of the situation have added to the customer's distress. Ms. Guo urged the restaurant to improve their protocols for serving grilled snails and criticized the ineffective first-aid response by the staff, highlighting the need for better emergency procedures to avoid similar incidents in the future.
