A 35-year-old woman in Changsha, Hunan Province, China, experienced swelling and intense pain in her left index finger after swatting at mosquitoes. Upon examination at a hospital, it was discovered that the bone in her finger had fractured. The woman, who had previously undergone thyroid cancer surgery and was taking medication that could decrease bone density, was advised to take calcium supplements and increase sun exposure for treatment. The incident serves as a reminder of the risks of osteoporosis, especially for individuals with underlying health conditions.
