Xie Jinhua, chairman of Finance Information Media, has been impersonated by scam groups for investment fraud, with at least 32 victims across Taiwan losing up to 140 million NT dollars. The elderly woman, in particular, trusted a fake Xie Jinhua and was scammed 12 million NT dollars. Xie Jinhua expressed heartache over the incidents and urged for action against scams, criticizing Facebook for not taking down fraud ads promptly. He advised the Digital Development Department to communicate with platforms, suggesting real-name advertisement and platforms taking responsibility for compensation in case of victimization.
