A woman in New Taipei City was scammed out of 500,000 NT dollars through a weight loss fraud scheme. After participating in a community activity, she was convinced by a woman she met to purchase weight loss products from a LINE account posing as a nutritionist. However, the products received were unidentified medications with no certification, and the woman was even shown photos of a person claiming to be a nutritionist, but turned out to be stolen images of a doctor from mainland China. Despite suspicions, the woman refused to report the scam, emphasizing the importance of being cautious with unverified products to avoid health risks and financial losses.
