A 36-year-old woman surnamed Guo, diagnosed with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP), killed her 2-year-old daughter with a pillow before attempting suicide with a knife in Taiwan. Upon her husband's return home, he found them and called emergency services. The daughter died, while the woman survived. The Taipei District Prosecutors’ Office charged Guo with murder and other offenses. Guo had been struggling with health issues and did not want to trouble her family due to her condition. This case marks the 13th instance of a trial involving lay judges in Taipei.
