ASIC company Weltrend-KY announced a record-breaking combined revenue of 4.373 billion NTD in May, a historical high. However, despite fears of increased competition and risks related to server CPU ASIC projects under the Arm architecture, Weltrend's management remains confident in future prospects, citing strong overall customer demand and aiming for a 30% annual revenue growth next year. The company achieved a 60.65% year-on-year and 8.9% month-on-month growth in May, with a total combined revenue of 18.857 billion NTD in the first five months of the year, a 70.83% increase from the same period last year. Despite this strong performance, foreign institutional investors took a selling position, resulting in an 8.39% drop in stock price on the 11th. While competition intensifies with the entry of companies like MediaTek and Socionext into the market, Weltrend's management sees growth potential driven by orders from IDM customers and automotive projects, with the company poised to excel in the evolving landscape of advanced chip production and packaging technologies.
