On June 17, 2024, a month after the new government took office, Wu Dongliang, the Chairman of the Chinese National Federation of Industries, led a delegation of over 30 members to meet with President Lai Ching-te. They presented a document containing more than 30 recommendations on issues of concern to the business community, including promoting financial development. Wu Dongliang emphasized Taiwan's potential in AI industry and urged for strengthening low-carbon power supply and creating a friendly regulatory environment for the biotech industry. He also suggested following Singapore's financial industry as a benchmark to support Taiwan's industrial growth. Lai Ching-te promised to review the recommendations, showing his dedication to listening to the business sector's voices and concerns.
