On June 17, 2024, at 4:10 p.m., Wu Dongliang, the Chairman of the Industrial and Commercial Consolidation Association, met with President Lai Ching-te, urging the government to re-examine the timetable for a nuclear-free homeland from a scientific perspective to strengthen low-carbon power supply. He also suggested following Singapore as a model to establish a financial development path, aiming to create international-level banks and showcase Taiwan's financial competitiveness. During the meeting, Wu handed over a document containing over 30 suggestions, with a focus on power supply and financial development strategies.
