The 'following of journalists' controversy involving mainland China and Taiwan continues to escalate, with green media outlets unable to provide solid evidence for their claims. Nationalist Party Deputy Chairman Lien Sheng-wen criticized the allegations as a strategic move to protect the National Communications Commission (NCC) personnel case and control speech and media. The mainland Chinese Taiwan Affairs Office spokesperson Zhu Fenglian refuted the accusations as pure fabrication, labeling them as malicious attempts by the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) to deceive and manipulate the Taiwanese people. Opposition party members stress the importance of neutral oversight to counter DPP's media control tactics, highlighting similarities between DPP's practices and those they criticize in the Chinese Communist Party.
