Yang Ming and Wan Hai's May Revenue Grows by 40%

Reported about 1 year ago

Benefiting from steady increases in freight rates and volumes, major shipping companies Evergreen, Yang Ming, and Wan Hai all reported double-digit growth in revenue for the month of May, with Yang Ming hitting NT$16.925 billion and Wan Hai reaching a combined revenue of NT$11.454 billion. Expecting a continuation of congestion at ports and higher operating costs, Yang Ming stated that strong demand is likely to support freight rates, while Wan Hai mentioned that geopolitical tensions in the Middle East and congestion at ports may affect turnover rates but overall steady growth is expected in operations. Despite challenges from global factors such as the crisis in the Red Sea and adverse weather conditions, the shipping market and major ports are expected to continue facing congestion issues, potentially impacting vessel schedules and flight punctuality.
