Recently, in a scenic area of Yangmingshan National Park in Shilin District, Taipei City, heaps of construction waste were dumped near the 17th kilometer mark of Yangjin Road. After investigation by the authorities, individuals responsible for the illegal dumping were identified through a phone number found on the waste, and three suspects surnamed Hong, Lai, and Lin were caught. They were subsequently transferred to the Shilin District Prosecutors' Office for violating waste disposal laws. The culprits had profited NT$456,000 from illegally transporting and discarding the waste on Yangmingshan. Such actions are in violation of waste disposal laws and could result in imprisonment and fines. Dumping waste in national park areas also violates regulations and can result in additional fines.
