Yankees manager Aaron Boone was ejected from the game against the Angels due to an interference call on Juan Soto that probably shouldn't have been made. Despite the call, the Yankees went on to win 2-1 thanks to strong performances by Luis Gil, Alex Verdugo, and Anthony Volpe. Boone expressed frustration with the call but acknowledged that, technically, it was correct by the rulebook. The win improved the Yankees' record to 38-19, keeping them 1.5 games ahead of the Orioles in the American League East.
