A young couple in New Taipei City decided not to work and instead opted to purchase leaked credit card numbers online to register on a Japanese e-commerce platform and fraudulently purchase expensive health products. After the bank noticed irregularities and refused payment, the victimized store reported to the police, leading to the arrest of the couple and their accomplices. The suspects were caught by undercover officers as they left their home, and investigations revealed their scheme of acquiring credit card numbers, registering on e-commerce platforms using fake personal information, and even recruiting a middleman for receiving goods. The fraudulent couple managed to spend $510,000 in just five months on products, not for personal use but to resell and make illegal profits. Thankfully, the bank's vigilance prevented further damage, highlighting the importance of timely detection of such online scams.
