According to statistics, diabetes is becoming more common among young people, with an increasing number of individuals under 40 being diagnosed. A 38-year-old man, Ah Jun, developed kidney failure due to his habit of consuming high-sugar and high-fat foods, drinking sugary beverages daily, and neglecting his high blood sugar levels. Over 80,000 people in Taiwan are undergoing dialysis, with nearly half of them having diabetes-related kidney issues. It is emphasized that reducing sugar intake, staying hydrated with water, and avoiding phosphorus-containing beverages are essential to maintaining kidney health and preventing complications.
