According to the Construction and Planning Agency, there are over 4.8 million homes across Taiwan that are over 30 years old, accounting for about 53% of all housing. In Hualien County, there are over 80,000 homes over 30 years old, making up 63% of the total. Following the 0403 earthquake, issues like relocation, demolition, and reconstruction have arisen. To assist residents in post-earthquake housing reconstruction, Yu Shan Bank partnered with the Hualien Architects Association to hold an urban renewal counseling session in Hualien City. The event focused on legal regulations and financial services for urban renewal of old buildings, with the bank explaining loan application processes, loan percentages, tax incentives for reconstruction, and asset inheritance planning. Yu Shan Bank has processed over 300 applications for the urban renewal financing project since its inception, with over 100 cases approved by the end of May this year, covering various counties and cities nationwide.
