Yunlin County's independent council speaker Huang Kai was arrested for allegedly accepting bribes from green energy businesses. Following a search by prosecutors from New Taipei City, Huang Kai, three county government officials, and 17 others were brought in for questioning. After a night of interrogation, Huang Kai was detained by the court, while some others were released on bail. The investigation is ongoing regarding collusion between green energy companies and public officials, with parallels to a previous case involving bribery of another council speaker. Huang Kai had been elected as council speaker last year. Editor: Qin Yingwen.
