Yunlin County Council Speaker Huang Kai Suspected of Bribery, Remanded in Custody and Denied Visits by Court

Yunlin County Council Speaker Huang Kai is reportedly suspected of receiving bribes from a green energy factory business. The New Taipei District Prosecutor's Office led an investigation, searching the Yunlin County government, council, and Huang's residence, and summoned 21 individuals including Huang, another council member, and industry personnel. After a night of questioning, Huang was remanded in custody this morning for alleged bribery under the Anti-Corruption Act. The case involves allegations of bribery involving a green energy company for land use approvals, with Huang and another member accused of accepting at least a million dollars and using their positions to facilitate local permits.
