During the G7 summit in Italy on June 13, 2024, Ukrainian President Zelensky signed a 10-year bilateral security agreement with the US and Japan to strengthen Ukraine's resistance against Russia, with goals of closer NATO integration. The agreement includes military aid, training, high-level consultations in case of armed threats, plans for expanding the military and defense industry, intelligence sharing, and joint military exercises. Japan also pledged $45 billion to Ukraine within the 10-year period. Furthermore, G7 agreed to provide Ukraine with a $500 billion loan sourced from the interests of Russian sovereign assets frozen by G7, worth approximately $300 billion. Additionally, other G7 leaders are facing domestic political challenges, with support for Zelensky's Ukraine remaining steadfast regardless of potential leadership changes of allies according to Zelensky.
