A Taiwanese fishing boat, the Da Jin Man 88, was detained by Chinese coast guards and taken to Jinjiang Weitou Port in Quanzhou, Fujian. KMT legislator Hsu Chiao-hsin expressed concern over the incident and urged for the crew and ship to return to Taiwan quickly. Fishing agency director Zhang Zhisheng emphasized the need to prevent further disputes and highlighted the overlapping fishing areas between Taiwan and China. He stated that the issue will be negotiated by the Mainland Affairs Council and stressed the importance of prioritizing the return of the crew and ship to Taiwan.
