Reported about 1 year ago

On July 9, 2024, former Taoyuan Mayor and former Straits Exchange Foundation Chairman Cheng Wen-tsang was accused of taking a bribe of 5 million in the Lincou Gongwu Land Development case, and the Taoyuan District Court ruled to release him on bail. The Taoyuan District Prosecutors' Office successfully appealed the bail and reopened the detention hearing on the morning of the 9th. Commenting on this, former Central Broadcasting Company Chairman Zhao Shao-kang praised the Taoyuan prosecutors, especially Prosecutor Chen Jiayi, for their relentless pursuit even after Cheng Wen-tsang was released on bail, believing that with a different judge, Cheng Wen-tsang would have a high chance of being detained today.
