Zheng Wen-can Assumes Chairmanship of SEF: Prepared for Stabilized and Open Cross-Strait Relations

At the 12th Board of Directors and Supervisors' Joint Meeting of the Straits Exchange Foundation (SEF) on June 7th, Zheng Wen-can officially took over as the Chairman from Lee Da-wei, emphasizing readiness for stable and gradual cross-strait openness by stating that the relationship with the mainland is vital for the country's survival and development. He highlighted the importance of communication and dialogue, expressing confidence in Taiwan's democratic values and readiness for step-by-step openness. Zheng emphasized promoting understanding and mutual forgiveness through dialogue, aiming for peaceful and stable relations as the ultimate goal. Vice-Chairman Luo Wen-jia also stressed the significance of cross-strait relations in achieving mutually beneficial outcomes for both sides, aligning with government policies for a steady and collaborative approach towards exchanges.
