Former Taoyuan Mayor Zheng Wencan, who resigned as Chairman of the Mainland Affairs Council, had his bail of NT$5 million revoked by the High Court on the 8th. Taoyuan District Court reopened the detention hearing on the 9th, where Zheng arrived and entered the court without responding to reporters' inquiries. The court later ruled to increase bail to NT$12 million, with restrictions and prohibitions, and the prosecutor immediately filed an appeal. Zheng paid NT$7 million in cash for bail in the afternoon and left the court without saying a word, maintaining a serious expression throughout.
