The Criminal Investigation Bureau (CID) received intelligence that a drug trafficking group was operating a drug distribution site in the Luzhou area of New Taipei City, producing and distributing a new type of drug known as 'zombie vape cartridges' made from the anesthetic drug 'Eto-methedrone'. The group, led by a man surnamed Chen, was caught with materials to produce 1600 of these cartridges, valued at approximately NT$4.8 million. Eto-methedrone is a psychoactive drug that causes behaviors like uncontrollable shaking and is dubbed 'zombie vape cartridges' for its effects. The CID and local police forces formed a task force to arrest Chen and continue investigating the case. Eto-methedrone has been classified as a third-level drug, and authorities are cracking down on drug-related crimes to protect public safety and health.
