In a bid to attract NVIDIA's second research and development center, nine cities in Taiwan, including Taipei, New Taipei, Taoyuan, Hsinchu, Miaoli, Taichung, Tainan, and Kaohsiung, are pulling out all the stops. Minister of Economic Affairs, Wang Mei-hua, hinted strategically that NVIDIA will make its own choice but would choose the location where people want it to go. This comes after NVIDIA's CEO, Huang Renxun, announced plans to invest further in Taiwan by setting up a large design center over the next 5 years employing at least 1,000 engineers and looking for a site to build a headquarters.
