On the eve of the 10th anniversary of the August 1, 2014, gas explosion in Kaohsiung, the city government has highlighted its achievements in pipeline management over the past decade. Through the enactment of autonomous regulations, they have implemented pipeline operation inspection systems, digitalization of pipeline data, various educational training and disaster drills. Additionally, a 24/7 pipeline safety office was established the following year, aiming to become a model for pipeline management nationwide. The efforts include improving pipeline accuracy, conducting disaster preparedness exercises, and collaborating with petrochemical industry players to ensure operational compliance, ultimately striving for a comprehensive and exemplary pipeline management approach.
