According to an announcement from the Bank of Japan, the new Japanese yen banknotes began circulation on July 3, 2024, and arrived in Taiwan on July 17, delivered by US Bank to several local banks. While some branches, such as Mega Bank, can start exchanging the new currency, the supply is limited initially. Additionally, the public is informed about eight key anti-counterfeiting features of the new yen, including advanced watermarks and engraving techniques that enhance security and authenticity.
