Anglo American Plc has raised 9.6 billion rand ($530 million) by selling a 6.6% stake in Anglo American Platinum Ltd. The sale aims to boost the free float of the South African unit ahead of a planned full exit. The company sold 17.5 million shares for 548 rand each, increasing publicly traded Amplats shares significantly since September. Anglo American plans to finalize the demerger from its controlling stake in Amplats by mid-2025 while also working on divesting its coal business and nickel mining.
