17 counties and cities issue high temperature warnings with Yunlin's Dou Nan recording 38.1 degrees Celsius; Cheng Mingdian: Strong UV rays, remember to apply sunscreen

The Central Weather Bureau issued high-temperature warnings, with Yunlin County, Tainan City, Kaohsiung City, and Taitung County under orange warnings for the possibility of extreme high temperatures projected at 38 degrees Celsius. Other areas are also advised to pay attention to the heat. Cheng Mingdian, the former director of the Meteorological Bureau, mentioned that today's UV rays are strong, therefore, sunscreen application is crucial to counter the heat, especially in areas where sea breeze is insufficient. Temperatures are expected to remain high in the upcoming week, with thunderstorms anticipated in certain regions during the afternoon. Additionally, precautions for long waves in the southwestern regions on the 25th should be noted.
