At a Nationalist Party parliamentary reform briefing, MP Su Qingquan revealed that 76% to 78% of locals near the Hengchun Nuclear Power Plant in Pingtung County support discussions on its extension. The residents have lived harmoniously with the plant and seek good healthcare and financial compensation, expressing no objections to the extension. Su criticized Taipei's Democratic Progressive Party members for their opposing views. The issue of prolonging the plant's operation has become a recent focal point of discussion.
