In a recent deal announced by White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, TikTok's US operations will be predominantly owned and governed by Americans, securing six of seven board seats for US members. The agreement will remove Chinese ownership and ensure that TikTok's data and algorithm will be controlled by American entities. The deal aims to enhance national security and user privacy, with major tech company Oracle stepping in as TikTok's security provider, while ByteDance will retain a minority stake of less than 20%.
