Advent International has announced its agreement to acquire Swiss firm U-Blox Holding for approximately $1.3 billion in cash. The offer of 135 Swiss francs per share represents a 53% premium on the average share price over the past six months. The transaction is subject to regulatory approvals and is expected to be finalized within six months. U-Blox specializes in microchips and software for navigation systems and has focused its efforts on this market after divesting a unit earlier this year.
