According to the Central Weather Bureau at 17:15, due to vigorous development of convective cloud systems in the afternoon, there is a high chance of short-term heavy rain today in parts of Changhua County, northern areas from Tainan, as well as in the mountainous regions of Kaohsiung and Hualien, with risks of thunderstorms, strong gusts, landslides in mountainous areas, and flooding in low-lying areas. Heavy rain warnings are issued for Keelung City, Taipei City, New Taipei City, Taoyuan City, Hsinchu City, Hsinchu County, Miaoli County, Taichung City, Nantou County, Yunlin County, Chiayi City, Chiayi County, Tainan City, Kaohsiung City, and Hualien County; and a torrential rain warning is issued for Changhua County.
