Allegations surfaced recently accusing Taiwan's representative to the U.S., Yu Da-hsin, of spending 8 million NT dollars to renovate the official residence, triggering calls from DPP legislators for a thorough investigation by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. However, Foreign Minister Joseph Wu stated that Yu Da-hsin's duties will not be adjusted for now, emphasizing that the actual amount spent was only 2.5 million NT dollars, not 8 million as claimed. Minister Wu reiterated the need for team unity and support for Yu Da-hsin, despite internal pressure for swift investigation.
